Our Salad CSA is built for the people who already know how quickly a bag of really good salad mix disappears.

For 12 weeks, members receive freshly harvested greens grown right here at Riggin Farm, washed, packed, and ready for your refrigerator. Our signature salad mix is made from a rotating blend of lettuces such as Sweet Green Crisp, Red Tango, Red Butter, Green Oakleaf, Muir, and other seasonal varieties chosen for flavor, color, texture, and quality.

Every membership also includes a seasonal salad extra each week: something from the farm that pairs naturally with your greens. Depending on the season, that might mean cucumbers, radishes, microgreens, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, green onions, or another fresh addition from the week's harvest.

The idea is simple: you provide the dressing. We'll take care of the salad.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. When you join, you're purchasing a 12-week share of the farm's harvest in advance.

That commitment gives us predictable demand so we can plan our plantings, harvests, labor, and weekly production specifically around our members. In return, your share of the harvest is reserved for you each week.

2. What exactly will I receive every week?

That depends on which membership you choose.

The $10 membership includes two 5 oz bags of salad mix.

The $15 membership includes three 5 oz bags of salad mix.

The $20 membership includes five 5 oz bags of greens, with options for Romaine and/or Arugula substitutions when available.

Every membership level also receives one seasonal salad extra each week.

3. What's in your salad mix?

Our blend changes somewhat with the season and what is growing best on the farm.

We typically grow several varieties of Salanova lettuce along with varieties such as Sweet Green Crisp, Red Tango, Red Butter, Green Oakleaf, and Muir.

The goal isn't to make every week's bag identical. We want a colorful mix of different leaf shapes, textures, flavors, and colors while harvesting each variety when it's at its best.

4. What is the weekly seasonal extra?

Think of it as something to help turn your greens into dinner.

Depending on the season and harvest, you might receive cucumbers, radishes, microgreens, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, green onions, or another farm-grown addition.

Because we're farming with the seasons, the extra will change throughout the 12 weeks.

5. How much does the Salad CSA cost?

There are three sizes:

2 bags/week - $120 for 12 weeks

3 bags/week - $180 for 12 weeks

5 bags/week - $240 for 12 weeks

Membership is paid in full when you sign up.

6. Why do I have to pay for all 12 weeks upfront?

CSA memberships work differently from ordinary grocery shopping.

Your advance commitment allows us to plant specifically for our membership numbers, purchase seed & supplies, schedule harvests, and reserve enough production to fulfill every share.

It also means that when you arrive each week, your salad is already spoken for.

7. Can I substitute Romaine or Arugula for the salad mix?

Members of the $20 membership may substitute up to two of their five weekly greens for Romaine and/or Arugula when those crops are available.

Because everything is grown here on the farm, availability will depend on the season and harvest.

8. Is the salad already washed?

Yes. Our salad mix is harvested, processed, washed, and packaged before pickup.

As with any fresh produce, you may choose to rinse it again at home before eating.

9. How long should the salad stay fresh?

Properly refrigerated, freshly harvested lettuce can maintain excellent quality for quite some time, up to 6 weeks!

For best results, get your CSA home and refrigerated as soon as possible after pickup.

10. Where do I pick up my CSA?

Riggin Farm pickup will be available Fridays 12pm-3pm, Splendor Oaks (7888 Bells Ferry Rd, Canton, GA 30114) Fridays 5pm-7pm, the Jasper Farmers Market Saturdays 7:30am-12pm, and Lucky Hare (60 N Gate Station Dr, Marble Hill, GA 30148) on Wednesdays 4pm-8pm.

Off-farm locations require an additional pickup fee for the full 12-week season to help cover transportation and delivery costs, and the day & time are subject to change if the hours of those businesses are altered.

Your pickup location is selected when you join and applies throughout the CSA season.

11. What happens if I miss my pickup?

Because we're handling a highly perishable product and coordinating dozens (or even hundreds) of individual weekly shares, we cannot routinely reschedule missed pickups.

Shares that aren't picked up during the designated pickup period may be forfeited, and we cannot provide partial refunds or makeup weeks for missed pickups.

12. What happens if weather or another farm issue affects the harvest?

That's part of the meaning behind Community Supported Agriculture.

We plant more than we expect to need and carefully plan our successions, but we're still farming. Extreme temperatures, storms, pests, equipment problems, or other circumstances can occasionally affect production.

If we're short on a particular green or seasonal extra, we'll do our best to substitute something of equal or greater value. If a significant shortage can't reasonably be replaced, we'll communicate with our members and work to make it right.

CSA members aren't simply purchasing lettuce, they're becoming part of a direct relationship between a local farm and the people it feeds.

Know Your Farmer. Trust Your Food.

When you join the Riggin Farm Salad CSA, your salad doesn't spend days traveling through warehouses and distribution centers before reaching you.

It's grown here. Harvested here. Packed here.

Every week for 12 weeks, your share of the harvest is waiting for you.
