About the event
Join us at Riggin Farm to learn all the steps to successfully take a chicken that you've raised and transform it into a meal for you and your family. This workshop will be taught by Nick Riggin, Seattle Culinary Academy graduate with 4 years experience of professional butchering experience. His lovely assistant, Ashley Riggin, has on-farm experience processing many birds and will provide additional help during the afternoon.
When you arrive you'll get to see the entire process from start to finish. You'll be allowed to ask questions throughout the demonstration. Afterwards you will get to pick out a chicken from our pasture  and then dispatch, scald, pluck, process, and shrink wrap it to take home for a farm-fresh meal! After completion of the workshop you will be armed with the knowledge, experience, tools, and confidence to process your own birds.Â
Cost of admission includes the following take home goodies:
1 fully processed and wrapped chicken
Boning/filleting knife
Riggin Farm butchering apron
Add on an additional chicken for $15 or two for $25. Let us know how many you want when you arrive. We take cash, all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and Cash App.
We want you to feel comfortable knowing that we're available afterwards if you have additional questions or need help. You can contact us via call, text, or email if you need help.
The event will be held outdoors, rain or shine
